Butterfly weed propagation in fall

I've read from various sources, that you can start Butterfly Weed seeds in late August, and get moderate blooming the following year. Has anyone done this before? If so, do I start them, and then let them go dormant over the winter months, or do I raise them indoors all winter?

They should be ok outside. They are tough plants. I'd plant some now even if I wanted.
