Jade clipping - split on its own?

I have a small jade (2.5 ") with 5 sets of leaves that I rooted from a cutting with 2 sets of leaves. Right now it is just one strait shoot. Will it send out branches on its own or do I need to clip off the node so that it will split? If so, when? Thanks!

Yes, it should branch on its own. BUT, you can encourage it to branch (become more "bushy") by removing the growing tip (pinching the plant back). I'd say the when depends on the plant's growth rate and your personal preferences about how you want the plant to look. I thing most people just let them do their own thing, with good results.
