Would like to root a special Mock Orange

My parents have a beautiful Mock Orange that was already growing at their house when we moved in in the mid's 60's. This plant is a real treasure and we have no idea what the variety is. It is very fragrant and blooms off and on all summer, unlike some of the varieties of Mock Orange that you find at the nurseries and garden centers today. I would love to start come cuttings, and in the past have tried the water method, which was NOT successful. This year, I have started rooting some various plants, using rooting hormone, and a container of light soil and have quite a bit of success. Are there any tips or hints that you might share with me about propagating this Mock Orange? Is this a good time to take tip cuttings, for example, or would you wait another month? Thanks,

Linda ~ Linlily
