I took a small cutting from a sasparilla jasmine and tried to root it. I put it in som soil in a converted 2 liter soda bottle. It's been steamy in there, and now it has this stuff growing on the stem. It can;t be roots can it?

| they look like areiol (air) root that help attach the stem to a wall etc...... lightly tug on the cutting if meet resistance then rots have formed in the soil..... I take cuttings June through Oct. terminal cuttings of firm new growth... I apply 0.1% to 0.3% IBA (rooting hormone) stick in well drained soil & mist taking 21-50 days to root. |
