I HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THE RED SUMAC PLANT THAT I SEE GROWING WILD IN THIS AREA; HAVE TRIED UNSUCCESSFULLY TO GROW THEM FROM SEEDS AND FROM DUG-UP PLANTS. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS ABOUT WHAT I CAN DO ?

RE: Red Sumac

1)Seed soak in water for 24 hours then store at 40F for 90 days..... THEN takes 30-90 days to germinate.
2)Root cuttings taken winter take 40-80 days to sprout
3)Take soft wood cuttings apply 0.3% IBA (Rooting hormone) Stick in well drained soil & mist.....
your choice.
