When to propagate a mango tree

I have 2 mango trees I grew from seeds. They are in 16 inches pots which are buried in the garden. In winter I dig the pots and they go into the Garage. The plants are 1 Foot tall. When can I I propagate them and is it necessary? I heard it is mandatory for Mango But not sure.

I am really confused. I read an article written by some Mango expert. She said you have to mix the DNA of two different mango trees to get good eatable fruits. She indicated that even the seed is from a very sweet delicious Mango its tree would not produce the same without mixing the DNA. Should I get a branch from another Mango tree and attach it to my tree.
Can any one help please?
