Do you see this Yucca Tree?

Yucca Tree

Take a look at all the buds from the base upwards ...

Yucca Tree Buds

Can these buds be cut off and be simply planted to clone the Yucca? Is there any special procedure?

Note that the existing cuts and gouges are from trimming, not from taking buds for this purpose.

The answer is yes seporate from main stem & allow to "air dry" 6-24 hours, apply 0.1% IBA (rooting hormone) keep soil "damp" misting not required. will root in 1-3 months

How much of the main wood should I take. Just a scallop cut?

Everybody! Please laugh and cry with me!

The hired help was here today and I, not wanting to rob them of their importance, asked them to cut just four (4) of those buds off and 'BRING THEM TO ME SO I COULD CLONE THEM.'

After they left, I thought they forgot my request, so I went down to cut the 4 buds myself and to my horror!!!! They had gone and cut away every last bud except for maybe one or two tiny ones!!!
