Yucca Cloning

Do you see this Yucca Tree?

Take a look at all the buds from the base upwards ...

Can these buds be cut off and be simply planted to clone the Yucca? Is there any special procedure?

Note that the existing cuts and gouges are from trimming, not from taking buds for this purpose.
