I have Muscadine and Scuppernong grapes I would like to start from cuttings. How and when do I do this? Thanks for your advice!

RE: grape cuttings

Take cutting in the fall, store them in the frig for winter. Put them in rooting medium in late winter (clean sand and water), as soon as you see roots transfer them to a potting soil mix in tall thin containers so the roots can grow downward. Once the risk of frost is gone transfer into the ground. Dig your holes deep and wide so the soil is conditioned for quick deep and broad root growth to help protect the vines from drought.

Water to save the vine, don't water to save grapes...you'll regret it when your grapes split if you do.
