Home made Unscientific Rooting Hormone

Poverty is a crap hole.

But knowledge is powerful.

Need rooting hormone?

Willow. Any species. Pick in spring (or when young and tender.)

pick a twig and strip the bark off in long strips. Break the twig to available size. Place all in non-chlorinated water and allow to sit at moderate (room temp) temp for at least 24 hours.

Some recommend boiling it down, but not necessary.

When ready, discard solids and place liquid solution in glass jar with tight lid. Refrigerate up to a week. Might work longer.

Another species that works is Poplar tree. I discovered this by accident.

Any fast-growing bush/tree might just have the same hormone or one similar so look it up and give it a try if not harmful to your plants.

Long-term storage: Fill ice cube trays with liquid solution and freeze taking out what you need.

Spring new growth is the most potent.

Some use aspirin - willow is the original source for aspirin - but many aspirins are synthetic (still work?) nowadays.
