Pachysandra propagation

I'm potting up hundreds of pachysandra cuttings and wondering if the white parts of the stem that have been below ground will root if cut into 1 or 2 inch sections and buried? I've been using Dip N Grow liquid hormone on the cuttings and wondering if the time spent on those sections of stem is worth it.
Also wondering what's the best temp to keep the cuttings at? Presently they're outside, and day temps are averaging 70 degrees & night temps 50 (though it was 44 last night and close to that tonight). I'm assuming the cool night temps aren't the best for fastest root production. I'd like to get them in the ground while it's still warm.
