Have used a water bed heating mat & it worked well

one would think since it is designed for use with a WATER bed .. that there would be some level of safety engineered into the thing .... but who knows what its level of safety is for use with pots full of water ...

we tell peeps looking for chemicals.. to use chemicals only labeled for the appropriate use ...

this mat is NOT made nor sold for the use you want to use it for ... it sometimes amazes me how much risk some will take.. to save a buck or two ....

but i have to admit i have heard of a lot of peeps using it as you want to ...

my best advice.. have a ground fault interceptor [GFI] receptacle installed in the outlet you are going to plug this into.. just to minimize the odds of electrocuting yourself ... its not all that complicated.. nor expensive.. if you can find someone who knows how to do it ... its a very easy homeowner thing to do .. as long as you turn off the power to the outlet.. lol ..

If there were hazards to water bed heating devices then
many of us incontinent old geezers would be fried to our bed frames.

However do use a GFI receptacle because it is good practice.
