passion flower@salvia cuttings

I was wondering if anyone has started salvia Hot Lips from cuttings successfully. I would also like to try some cuttings from my Passion flower vine. I was wondering if these would benefit from bottom heat and when is the best time to take the cuttings?

Salvia take cuttings of firm new growth apply 0.1% IBA (rooting hormone) stick in well drained soil & mist Seed is the best method of propagation.
Passion flower best time Aug to Sept, take a tip cutting apply 0.1% IBA stick in well drained soil & mist taking 15-40 days to root.... on this one the bottom heat will help & need to protect through the winter

Thanks for your help. The hummingbirds really love the Hot Lips Salvia so I would like to have more next year. I also love the Passion flower and would like to share some with others.
