collecting large amount of apple seed

Can someone tell me how to collect a large amount of apple seed from small, hard crab apples? I have about a gallon of 1/2" fruits to process.

Do I ferment them by soaking in water for a week like tomato seeds?

should work...if in a hurry try a short burst in a blender .....or cut in half with a knife.....

Or let them get ripe and soft and just squish out the seeds and rinse them off. There is no need to ferment apple seeds, might even be harmful. If the fruit is not ripe, the seeds might not be either. Have you open some to see?
