New Aloe Babies with yellowish substances growing on soil

Posted by blazerific MA (My Page) on

I have about ten office plants and the soil in a few of my plants, mainly my newly planted aloe babies has peculiar yellowish round looking items popping up all over the soil. It's hard to tell what they are and why to do to fix it. Is this harmful? The plants don't get overwatered, drains at the bottom, and sit in well lot areas.

My guess would be that they are old slow release fertilizer beads......what you are seeing is the shell coatings after the fertilizer has been used up....
I have customers come into the nursery where I work with the same issue....they always think that they are insect eggs......but are just what I said above......
