BTW, I did go out to patent Genius,
but there are only a couple listed and they do not give the names.
It's not a complete list, for instance, the "Eversweet" is not listed and I know for certain it is patented.

There are some places which say they list patented varieties of fruit trees but yet either only list some of the patented ones or none at all. It really looks like many people/nurseries ignore patents on pomegranate trees for some reason.

Oregon_veg, none of the three cultivars you mentioned are patented. Keep in mind that only plants developed since 1988 (20 years from today) can have plant patent protection. Relatively few plants have such a patent, but one easy way to check (that generally works from what I've seen) is to google the name of the plant and the word patent. If the plant is patented, that information should be shown where the plant is listed for sale. There is a site that lists all plant patents in a really easy to search format but I don't have the web address handy right now.

I took a peak at the patentGenius site, and am pretty sure the link below list ALL pomegranates with a current plant patent. There have been other plant patents for pomegranates, but all that I checked besides the ones listed on this site have expired. The cultivar names can be found in the text of the patent details usually in the "Abstract" or "Description" fields.
