When is it too late in the year to take cuttings?

I've been taking stem and tip cuttings for several months now and I would like to continue as long as possible. I want to do some phlox, annuals (more petunias and anagallis), eupatorium and maybe hydrangea for example. We had a slight frost here a few days ago and I wondered if that meant the end of my propagating. The plants I want to use didn't seem to be affected by the frost. I do tent the cuttings by placing a whole flat in a kitchen garbage bag and occasionally misting them with a spray bottle to keep the humidity up.
