starting liriope

I have a liriope (white) I don't see many of these out there at the local garden centers. I am looking at splitting the plant I have. Should I pull it out of the ground and split it now, and do I leave the plants outside, or do I keep them say in a 3 season room that gets plenty of light? Do I wait until spring? I've never taken root cuttings before would this be a better way and how do I take care of those?

You will be doing DIVISION of the plant. Therefore dividing into small clumps with roots attached. They may be /are most of the time planted at the same time. a small amount of mulch may be applied & most important the area must be kept damp all winter long.

So is this something I want to do now or do I wait until spring? Would storing them indoors be helpful as far as keeping them watered. The room get alot of sunlight and stays about 10 degrees warmer than ambient temperature
