Diablo Ninebark from cuttings

I've tried starting these several times in the past 2 years. Some in the spring, early summer and some later in the summer. I've also taken softwood cutting, semi-hardwood cuttings and none took. I've used the appropriate rooting hormone powder but nothing worked. When is the best time to start them? Thanks. Marg

Soft wood cuttings taken June/July ... apply 0.3% IBA (rooting hormone) (check rooting hormone STRENGTH)stick in well drained soil & mist.

Dont despair! I've found the Ninebark family to be as easy to root as they are beautiful and unknown. Are you using a mist system? If not, that will help immensely. I also found that earlier in the season I had higher success, but even later, I was running 80%+

Dirr says hardwood cuttings taken in November (after leaf drop) rooted 80% in sand:peat with NO hormone.
