Diablo Ninebark from cuttings

I've tried starting these several times in the past 2 years. Some in the spring, early summer and some later in the summer. I've also taken softwood cutting, semi-hardwood cuttings and none took. I've used the appropriate rooting hormone powder but nothing worked. When is the best time to start them? Thanks. Marg

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it another try next summer. Marg

Dont despair! I've found the Ninebark family to be as easy to root as they are beautiful and unknown. Are you using a mist system? If not, that will help immensely. I also found that earlier in the season I had higher success, but even later, I was running 80%+

PS- Diablo is patented. Don't try selling it!

Dirr says hardwood cuttings taken in November (after leaf drop) rooted 80% in sand:peat with NO hormone.

Dirr also says, Physocarpus 'Ninebark' Easily rooted from june-july softwoods, 1000ppm IBA solution. Al
