If you keep them in water they should sprout new leaves etc..... BUT in the spring (or even now) if you plant them in soil they will most likely die ...water roots are not the same as roots formed in soil...

No leaves that look alive. The roots seem to be still growing, they have completely filled a glass vase. Some of the flowers produced seed and they are viable. I did not count to do a germination test but a significant number of of a pinch of seed have sprouted.
