After having yanked pachysandra from several beds in my property over the years, I now wish to plant some under my crabapple tree. I have been doing bulbs and can no longer tolerate the die back nor the WEEDS!! I have a thick border elsewhere which I'd like to thin down. Can I somehow move pieces??? It's so hard to get a sense of how it will root since it runs so close to the surface. Do I use root tone or just pull, pinch and plant? Would I do it now in the fall??
