Bottom Heat

I am considering using bottom heat for rooting some cuttings. Has anyone ever used a waterbed heater to provide bottom heat? The commercial mats are expensive, and don't have a thermostat. A waterbed heater is larger and ahs a thermostat already. My concern would be that the heat couldn't be set low enough. Thanks, Jeff

This question is asked every year about this time & the answer is always a resounding YES!Do it anbd enjoy the fruts of your labor....

when mixing water and electricity ... install a ground fault interceptor [gfi] receptacle in the plug you plan on using in a situation involving water ...

its as easy as changing the plug ....

the concept.. for those who might not know... is that when a short happens.. the microseconds it takes to travel back to your fuse box.. might kill you ... the GFI will reduce that time to the milliseconds it takes to trip it at the plug ... at least that's how i remember the theory ... i am sure an electrician can tell the story better ...

and if you learn how to do it.... put one in the plug next to your sinks also ... since you are now an expert.. lol ...
