i think the seeds would be almost snd-grain size, dark and should be pressed into the surface of a sterile medium so weeds and moss/algae do not take over.

Kalmia species are very difficult to grow from seed. I would suggest washing the very small seeds in chlorox(I:10),drying on a sterile paper towel, and sprinkling the dried seeds on the surface of STERILE sifted peat moss. The container must be covered with a glass pane which must be removed briefly periodically to prevent fungus infestations. Seeds should form a thin,green mat at 60-70 degrees F.
Allow to grow until early spring at which time carefully t-plant to a sheltered, well prepared mix of peat moss and clean soil. It's a tough trip, but Good Luck!!!

Should I grow them indoors for the winter? I've read that they need no cold before germination, I just want to clarify that I should start them now?Thanks poaky1
