Cuttings have rooted, now what?

This is a great forum. Because of the knowledge I have gleaned here, I have attempted my first cuttings this fall. But have a problem now.

I took some ivy cuttings from my sister in law. I brought them inside and put some heat under them to hurry them up, so I could get them back outside before it got cold. Well it has gotten cold and I am worried about what to do with them now.

The ivy is a variegated variety that does not seem to climb or stick to everything. They are in small 2" pots. Temps this week are in the upper 20's at night and 40's during the day.

Can I put them out in a protected spot? Should I repot them? Should I wait for a warm spell? Would it make a difference if I tried to harden them off? Or have I just got to keep them inside all winter until spring comes?

Thanks for your responses.
