I usually remove the head & soak in vinegar then rinse in soapy water then clear water.... almost always works.

I am on community water, not well water. The line is fed off a new PVC line I put in for this purpose. My hose bib attachment has a super fine mesh screen that I thought would keep out particles that would cause me problems.

I have seen a filter sold at Lowes for around $12. I am not sure if this is really the right type filter for my needs.

I have considered changing to a type head I could clean. I really like the coverage of the heads I have when they work right. Because these heads are plastic, I am afraid to try stronger chemicals that might cause worse problems.

A filter is not going to prevent this problem. The minerals are dissolved in the water until exposed to the air. Chemically cleaning the nozzles as has been suggested will work if you persist. Al

Guys, thanks for taking the time share your knowledge and opinions. It is truly appreciated.

I have come to the same conclusion that I really have lost nothing by trying a stronger product to clean these guys. My question is has anyone found a product that they feel works well for them other than the 2 I mentioned earlier.
For example, is the stronger peroxide like used by hair stylist a viable canidate for a solution to soak these nozzles in?

Have you had a chemistry laboratory course with some instruction on handling acids? At serious hardware stores there are products brand named SanTeen or something similar that are mostly hydrochloric acid and one is just old fashioned sulfuric acid. The sulfuric acid will eat metal and skin and clothing and dissolve a lot of minerals (Once I was using it to clean a toilet from an abandoned house and it ate my brush.)

Did you try blowing backward with the compressed air in case the obstruction is behind the holes in the mister heads?
