| can I take a cutting now from a redwood dogwood and if so then should I place in root tone ,set it in water to root or what. Do it now or wait till Spring |

| I've rooted them in water. I had a few willows in there too just to help the situation. Spring cuttings would be the best to root, in my judgment. -Little John |

| hardwood cuttings are easy too. When you notice the new buds begin to swell in early spring/late winter, cut a few branches and pot them in a shady area. Keep them watered, uncovered, and let they stay in the pots until fall. Those that root will leaf out and grow. I did lots of these this past spring. Redtwig dogwood, not the red flowering tree. |
