tubers of maranta leuconeura-prayer plant

I am re-potting two dormant prayer plants and I am wondering if the many tubers attached to the roots can be cut off to form new plants like with the arrowroot maranta. It seems likely but I would like to know . There are several leaf shoots that i know will make new plants but the tubers have no eyes like potatoes

I know these plants can be divided, but would not do this until spring when the plant is again full of vigor. Most plants do not respond well to having their roots distrubed at this time of year.
