Peperomia Propagating Newbie- help!

Hi all, wondering if I could get some advice on what to do with this peperomia cutting-I'm used to propagating succulent leaves which sprout roots/buds very easily, but this is my first peperomia cutting and reading up on peperomia seems different and a bit trickier...

I didn't really have any hopes of this working, but I cut the end off and stuck it in some water and a few days later a few roots appeared! You can barely make them out in the attached pic. There are three about the length of the tip of a pencil, fairly thick.

My question is what do I do next? I'm not sure if I should leave it in water and let the roots grow, or take it out immediately and plant in soil? I'm worried about the stem rotting from sitting in water too long. Any help greatly appreciated!
