I'm so glad somebody asked this because I've been searching for the same thing. I want to make about ten or twenty more lavender plants from my lavender bush. Seems to be one of the hardiest, prettiest herbs for me to grow here in AZ with our hot summers.

My neighbor takes cuttings, sticks them directly in the ground where they are to grow and they root. They get daily water from the sprinkler system and are in full sun - must be easy.

In my small greenhouse i have rooted english lavender, fernleaf, kew red lavender, french, dutch, lady, munstead, goodwin creek and provence. I did these in plug trays about a 3" cutting. Keeping it above freezing at night. Lightly watering once every day unless its cloudy. These were done the first of December and are now going into some 4" pots.
Its best to use the "tender" cuttings. The hard woody are hard to root. And when getting ready to transplant push them up from the bottom. Dont want to strip the roots.
