Camellia Cuttings

| I have a neighbor that wants to root some cuttings from her camellias. She said she heard that you can only root them in damp sand. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've never rooted camellias before. She has some "old timey" plants that I would like to try rooting some for myself as well. Any suggestions?

| Taken cuttings in July. use firm new growth. apply 0.8% IBA (rooting hormone) stick in well drained soil & mist.takes 40-80 days to root transplant 6 months after rooting then repot in another year & then repot in yyet another year |

I worked in a Nursery, all the camellias we grow were from cuttings.
But on the Camellia forum they said most Camellias are grafted. |
