if it were so easy to find a comprehensive guide.. everyone would be doing it ,....

my best suggestion ... use google .. or any search engine .... and insert 'xxxxxx propagation' .... xxxxx being the latin name of what you info on ... perhaps you will have to start with the common name.. and then re-google when you find the latin ... and dont forget that google has an IMAGES page .... sometimes pix are worth a thousand words ....

also try the search function within garden web for info ... its near the bottom of the top banner .... the box near the red GO button ....

Ken Druse's book, Making New Plants, is really good and has a good list in the back. You can look up the plant and the list tells all the methods the plant can be propagated, plus the timing, etc. It's not exhuastive, but it's probably going to be way beyond your (and my) skills for quite some time. Not free. But a really great book. I have had excellent success following his instructions and guidelines. Propagation is becoming one of my favorite gardening tasks.

Making More Plants is a well done and exceptionally beautiful book and the price is justified. For many gardeners cost is a restraining force, especially for reference material. I found Alan Toogood's book for the American Horticultural Society very informative. American Horticultural Society Plant Propagation: The Fully Illustrated Plant-by-Plant Manual of Practical Techniques is the title. It gives recommended seasons for propagating and has a wide variety of plants with recommended techniques for each. I hope this helps.
