I'm going POSTAL!

| Nuff said after working with 5 POs across the country and talking to my postmaster and to Consumer Affairs Supervisor in Louisville. I am exhausted and ready to pull my hair out.
Life (and mailing seeds) used to be so cheap and simple.

LOL....it can do that to you! But just know, when you are bald and in a straight jacket, there will be a whole group of people forever in your debt...lol.. Angie~ who gets a twitch just thinking about the PO |

| No kidding! I can't get a straight answer for the life of me. I've stopped going into the PO to mail...just ends up costing me more. If I stick two stamps on it, and put it in my mail box, it gets where it's going just fine. If I actually take it to the PO, they charge me anywhere from 1.13 to 1.30! UGH! Besides, two of three clerks are horrid to deal with. I admire your ability to take this on, and wish you all the best, and some hair left in the end. ;o) |

| Well, it is finally over, with the exception of a few documents and notes going out to a few POs...assuring that they are on board. I wrapped up the one thread at Seed X conv, and started a new one with 'official' info that can be printed out and presented to your PO...like when they try to charge $1.13 instead of 80 cents. Go now girls and print it out, stick it in your purse or vehicle so you will have it when you get to the PO...Hear?...yes I'm being bossy, and I know it, but I don't want another soul to be overcharged even one more time. Just be sure to keep them envys under 3/4 inch and distribute and tape down the seeds if necessary to keep them from shifting and causing a bulge. The 'bulge police' might getcha! Sue...stepping off her box now to deal with sending out lots of seeds |

| Thanks for all the help Sue! *big pat on the back* :) What is "Seed X conv", and where may I find the official looking document to take to the PO?? I'd like to print it out just in case it ever comes in handy! I also tend to mail my seeds with 2 stamps if I can at all manage to get the envelope under 3/4" thickness by taping the packets down. My apt complex has a very thin (1/4") outgoing mail slot and mailmen don't check our individual mailboxes for outgoing mail. So I stick my seed envies in the big blue mailbox at the PO rather than taking them to a clerk. I only deal with clerks if I need to get delivery confirmation on something or if the parcel is too large or too heavy to go first class. Off to do some more "bulge police" avoidance! :) Grovespirit |
