I've noticed someone offering the Ae Ae banana 2 times in the past several years and both times they were scams. This is a very expensive plant and I have never seen a legitimate person have one for trade.

This may be the same person. ??

I was supposed to send jilllovesplants some rooted hoya and a variegated jade. She sent me her address (if anyone wants it, I still have it) and was supposed to send me the variegated chalice vine. I sent her my address and asked that she ship on Dec 10th as I was away the first week in Dec. I emailed her when I came back, but my emails to her came back to me as undelivered. I never received anything from her, but I never sent anything either. I've also sent her emails thru GW but she has not answered those either. Her email was from her but the header was Warren Keller.
Very strange.
At least I wasn't out any plants, just my time trying to contact her/him. I'm sorry that some of you were stiffed.
I've traded plants and seeds on GW for many years, and have only had one or two bad trades, either not what I expected or nothing at all. But I've also had great trades too. The majority of the people here are very generous. Right now my 'addiction' is with hoya and gessneriads. I spend most of my time lurking and posting there.

I seem to remember Lompoc Ca from several years ago. I looked that person up on Google earth and for the life of me cannot figure out how she could be growing Banana AeAe in what looked like the middle of a city!

I looked it up on google earth also looking for the bamboo. It's an apt complex... Should have known when she didn't know the difference between running and clumping.

I sent her 15 cardboard cycads for an ae ae banana. Not really rare or anything but it did cost almost $20 just to ship to CA. I should have known :(
