| Has anyone purchased from Dan Pierce rare seed website RARESEEDSOURCE.COM ? Their email address dp@futuresystems.com is bouncing, but Paypal lists them as a VERIFIED seller. The guy also does not return messages left on his voice mail and his other email addresses bounce as well. I wonder if anyone in the rare seed industry knows this guy? The address is in California accordingly to the public domain:

| I haven't purchased from this company, but I did check them out on GardenWatchdog. There are five positives and one negative review, with the negative being the most recent, dated Sept. 2009. The negative review was based on your experience--no response to inquiries. The poster had ordered seeds and hadn't received them after a reasonable time. |

| You were right about the negative feedback Dan Pierce has got on the "Garden Watchdog". The 5 positives could be fake, or he could be somehow associated with that website or he could have turned fraudulent after the year 2008 or he could have even been deceased recently. |

| One more note, if you don't mind: Dan Pierce dp@futuresystems.com is a VERIFIED Paypal user (still up to this day), yet this and all other email addresses associated with his Paypal account are hard bouncing. That makes me question professionalism, reliability and honesty of Paypal service. At least Paypal could constantly check for bouncing email addresses of their VERIFIED (!) users, since their payment system is EMAIL BASED! | Although www.rareseedsource.com website has been shut down (upon my complaint and probably complaints of other people) by the hosting company, but PAYPAL is still accepting payments for dp@futuresystems.com (Dan Pierce) who (surprise!) respectfully still is Paypal's Verified Premier Member (4430). Perhaps Dan Pierce never existed, or perhaps he deceased, yet Paypal has the nerve to keep his account open in order to cash in with accidental payments. Try sending $1 to dp@futuresystems.com and see how it goes. P.S. The website was hosted in China. |

| UPDATE: Today (30 SEPTEMBER 2010) I tried to "send" $1 to: dan@futuresystems.com (Verified Premier Member (4430)) and Paypal allows to do that. Just to compare matters, I tried to "send" $1 to a person, who scammed me for $85 on Paypal some years ago and never paid me back. Paypal says "This user is unable to receive money at this time". So Paypal is able to block certain people from receiving money, but RARESEEDSOURCE.COM (the domain still exists, is active and is not shut down) is probably too profitable (in scammed money floating in) in order for Paypal to shut it down. Interesting how such large companies and corporations would undermine their own reputation in order to collect a big amount of dishonest bucks. |

| What I did in this thread was (and still am doing) is trying to prevent further scams and fraud to potential buyers by the above company or individual, which is RARESEEDSOURCE.COM (Dan Pierce) or whoever they are, since they are clearly a fraudulent entity supported by Paypal. This thread is in no way regarding or against Paypal, but in the first place this is about the SEED sales fraud. UPDATE: Today (21st of January 2011) I again tried to "send" $1 to: dan@futuresystems.com (Verified Premier Member (4430)) and Paypal allows to do that. You can also request-money from them if send-money does not show their status. I reported this fraudulent account to Paypal (and Ebay) at least twice in the past, yet they apparently did nothing to prevent this criminal entity from being able to keep collecting money. |

| wow.... I am very surprised to hear this or find this info out... only because of recently wanting to buy more seeds and didn't know if the seeds I had were still viable. Well, I purchased these seeds in 9/07 and still had left over but no name of vendor on them... so I started digging. I am impeccable with my receipts, and was able to track down old invoice..... WHICH low and behold was DAN PIERCE.... In my experience (back then) I DID (obviously) recieve my seeds, and planted and grew some.(so they weren't "duds") and even recieved EXTRA gifted seeds... uploaded pic... and the original invoice from paypal... I am very shocked and this newly discovered info. Very well may be a fraud now in place because I cannot find the "oringinal" website I bought the seeds from, for it was NOT "rareseeds.com" at the time....
