Spectre, patience, patience. My library has this on order and I am waiting to read it before I buy it. I have so many books that I never buy anything unless I get it from the library first and then decide I absolutely cannot live without it. I have never heard of this author in the garden history world before but she may have been doing great work out of the limelight. Can't tell from the title if it's any good.

I will be awaiting your learned opinion, Ginny. I too carefully budget my bookbuying, and I do try to keep to things that I can currently use (bonsai and Japanese gardening).

My birthday is next month. I think this will be a present to myself.
