Was out in an old garden in renovation.

Here was a fun part of it...

Old topped Walnut tree with a tree house wedged in it -

The above ground part of restoration.

How do you get rid of the red x's?? There was a formula given one time. I'd like to see your photos, Mario.

I right clicked on the photos, went to properties, and cut and pasted the url. Afterwards, the pics appeared in the post. ??

As there is nothing much else happening here; what would below ground restoration be, I wonder?

There is not below ground restoration, that's renovation. The tree is the only part being brought back closer to original.

But they are placing bricks for brick paths around the back, and around the tree.

The red X thing has got me too.

My first three previews showed Xs. I checked the code, which needed no change, and the third preview displayed fine, as did the posted thread. But coming into the thread this time, I'm getting red Xs again.

I think sometimes hitting the back button and giving a second attempt will work. ?????

    Ginger...

This is a bit wild, but I right clicked on each of those red Xs, and copied the properties URL, then pasted it in my address bar - did it for each. Went right to the photos. And for each, as I hit the back button to come back to the thread, the photos displayed on the thread. Both at the same time.

Intersting bit of photoshopping going on. The backgrounds are entirely different in the two pictures, though the tree seems similar. But maybe we're looking from a different direction now?

Nope... I've got to do that in two stages, or it doesn't show up right because it gets read by the forum in between typing it and submitting it! Darn!

    Okay...

This is how to put a link into your posts: Type

    <A HREF="www.website.address.goes.here">

Note: the quotes are NOT optional

Now type the text you want the reader to click. This could be anything, including "click here" or XYZABC. It doesn't matter what it is -- it will appear underlined, and it will link to the address you've specified within the <A HREF> tag.

Now close the tag by typing </A>

This is how to put an image into your posts:

    <IMG SRC="www.website.address.goes.here">

    Yay!!!

Okay, that's exactly how you do it!

I like the new format John, and the colors too.

Did you get a new computer or upgrade to some new software ?

I noticed that your new look says ' powered by .mac at the bottom of the page and I had never noticed that on any of your previous web pages.

    A new birthday gift from your loving wife .... ? : ~ )

very nice .... informative too !

Yes. I got tired of A-Virus-A-Day and switched to a Mac. The new home page is still rudimentary. But it looks like i'll have some time soon to work on it

(And yes, it was a birthday present. She didn't want to switch systems, so I gave her Toshiba wireless laptop for her birthday.)

ZephirineD... The code you listed for an image is what I used.

That is before and after from the same direction but a slightly different angle.

    *sigh*

Yes, it looks like GardenWeb has made it harder to put straight HTML into a page... it now translates HTML between the typing and "preview" steps... so the tag symbols have to be coded as their hexadecimal numerical equivalents, in layers...

*DEEP sigh* ... which means, in order to write code that you can simply cut and paste from THIS post, I have to write the numerical equivalents four layers deep... ewww...

    How tired am I?

Well, this may take more than one post to get right, so please be patient with me...

This is how to put a link into your posts: Paste the following hexadecimal code into your post, with your own website address:

    &#60 A HREF="www.website.address.goes.here" &#62

Note: the quotes are NOT optional

Now type the text you want the reader to click. This could be anything, including "click here" or XYZABC. It doesn't matter what it is -- it will become the clickable text that will link to the address you've specified within the "A HREF" tag.

Now close the tag by pasting this:

    &#60&#47A&#62

This is to paste to put an image into your posts:

    &#60 IMG SRC="www.website.address.goes.here" &#62

Oh, man! I know, it looks like gobbledygook to you now... but you should see the gobbledygook I had to write to get it to look this way for you!

I hope you all know I wouldn't do this for anyone I didn't truly love!

Oh, and a reminder: If you have to edit your post in the preview stage, you need to cut and paste this code again, or it will get lost in translation with the next preview...

    Love,

    Claudia

Yup, that looks like it came out okay... give it a try, anyway... I'm too tired to try it myself tonight!

    Love,

    Claudia
