Ideas for re-hab of isolated part of yard

Here's a photo of an isolated part of a friend's yard. It's a wedge shape about 40' x 50', well away from the house/deck and sits at an elevated level at the end of a long back yard. This upper area once held an above-ground pool and deck (old, usable deck still in place.) I would welcome any suggestions you may have for uses for this area. Because allergies are a problem, sitting out on the upper deck, or around a fire pit etc. is not going to happen. Also, there's no interest in an edible or cutting garden. Because it's isolated from the rest of the yard, this area is in danger of becoming a permanent weed garden, unless we can find a use for it. For example, possibly a small home orchard with several dwarf fruit trees, herb garden, etc. It generally gets full sun. Above ground irrigation possible and low maintenance would be desirable. Thanks for your help.
