I inherited important plants that need saving

there is a very unruly hedge behind my house that has forsythia, annabelle hydrangea, hostas, vinca and I don't know what else. Where do i start and how? Can i fix it without hiring anyone? if you could take the time to see it in my blog, i will sincerely appreciate it

As you found when visiting gardens, gardeners share a special world and help each other. You have a dilema to untangle especially poison ivy identification. My suggestion is that you be courageous and knock on the door of one of the garden owners you visited on that tour, explain the problem and ask if they would visit with you and identify plants and how to renew them. I have a strong hunch this person will be glad to meet with you and recognize that as someone raised in a tropical climate you need help. Gardeners such as these are walking encyclopedias of knowlege which they gladly share. Be brave and give it a try.

& check with your local Agricultural Extension office & with garden clubs in your area.
