Garden Restoration

Need help with garden!

My boyfriend and i bought a house recently and the garden is HORRIBLE. I plan on putting in a butterfly garden on the side of the house and back, but the garden in the front needs some serious help. The pathway that leads up to my house is in an L shape and when it rains the garden and pathway completely floods. I was wondering if there are any plants that would help with sucking up all the extra water? Any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

There aren't any plants that will fix the water drainage problems you describe.

You need to fix that first. Then think about the garden plants.
