Visitors and Tourists

Here is a topic near and dear to my heart. Many Historic/reconstructed gardens end up being open to the public on a regular basis. I volunteer at one of these, and would like to open a discussion on how we deal with tourists and visitors. What sorts of educational materials do you have at your place? How do you tie the garden in with the overall intent of the place? What sorts of people problems do you encounter, and how do you deal with them nicely? There was an old thread about opening up your own garden for a garden tour - very interesting and informative - but what about gardens whose nature is to be public all the time? Maybe we can benefit from each others' experience...
