OK I went temporarily insane last night (I blame Winter) and ordered a bunch of strawberry plants. Never grown them in my life. Need any and all advice, tips, planting instructions, etc
Follow-Up Postings:

They need deep, well-drained loam and lots of water for best production. If you have a dog you may get a surprise if you don't net for birds (which you may want to do). You'll get production after first year, perhaps best after second depending on variety and if it is adapted to your area (Colo Extension has several fact sheets - included Googles because of UT Extension).

I started out with 20 bare-root June-bearing plants from Michigan Bulb and they've gone insane. I've planted runners from those original 20 on 2 large slopes near my house so have strawberries on 3 sides, large beds. I've added a few everbearing and they're doing very well, too. The only type that haven't come back every year is alpine, not a single plant returned the next year. They are certainly a deer and rabbit favorite, though--you'll have to protect from them as well as birds. They certainly are tastier when they're fresh picked, though--worth the effort!
