I've never had that one, but I did have a prickly pear cactus here for several years. It didn't get enough sun so it never bloomed--so I gave it away to somebody I hope is having better luck with it. Cactus are absolutely beautiful when they bloom. I've never seen it in bloom, but the Butterfly Pavilion has a really good cactus garden. But if you ever want to see some really spectacular cactus in bloom, make a trip over to Timberline, usually sometime in June, to see Kelly's cactus display garden. He is totally into cactus! You'd need to call to be sure when they're at their best, last year they got all weirded out and by the time he had his open house in June they were mostly done blooming, but they really, really are amazing to see when they're at their peak. ALL kinds, and the most incredible colors! If you like cactus flowers--and who doesn't, try it, you'll like it!
