I bet Calgarians are ready for Spring after yesterday's storm! - 94 km/h = 58 mph wind gusts - That topped us around here. I believe it was 53 mph at the peak of the storms and not really finished yet with 14mph wind, 27°F and 16° wind chill! Calgary has snow on the ground, we just got it horizontal here as it blew off to the east!

One thing that spark my interest in reading about the Garden Show - starts tomorrow - is the gardeners working with SPUD (Small Potatoes Urban Delivery). Now, that sounds like fun!!

I assume that SPUD is also a store, or is affiliated with a store/co-op. Are gardeners becoming involved in marketing produce to their urban neighbors in this way?

It may be a good idea to talk to people involved in these sorts of things - home delivery of food isn't something I'm familiar with (I'm olde but not that olde ;o).

Urban dwellers get all the conveniences but maybe there's room for us garden-variety folks in the mix . . .

I will need to look into the spuds site as I am not familiar with it.
There is another initiative in Calgary to get produce to people.
You sign up at certain sites and order the size of produce box.
The following week you pick it up and pay $15 to $25 depending on size of box.
I have done this at a nearby seniors centre and received nice boxes of veges and fruit. The contents will vary according to what is available.
