Winter Harvest Progression.

OK, so the kid likes fresh salad. Who can blame her? This is how we grow our lettuce thru the winter. The spinach and arugula are not shown:

This is just about all picked out, back row long gone:

Fortunately this is coming on, yesterday she chose the leaves to eat, along with spinach from outside:

This is starting to come on now:

And waiting in the wings is all this, some to be removed in 4-6 weeks for spring planting of potatoes; April 20th or so gone for sure (likely waited too long to sow):


Trying 'Hakurei' turnips for the first time.

So that's how we keep fresh greens around here all year long (except for about 6-8 weeks in Jul-Aug with the heat stopping us).
