I went to the Philadelphia 'April in Paris' Flower Show

I was in Philadelphia last weekend for a class. But I played hookie for a while on Monday morning, and went to the Philadelphia Flower Show!

Wow! what a treat. Very festive, and hard NOT to shop! I gave in to temptation on a small scale, however, and bought a bunch of bulbs. :)

Pictured below is a shot of the Eiffel Tower at the show, and the kinds of flowers I hope will grow from my purchases!

I got 2 bulbs... rhizomes, I guess?... for hardy geraniums

I bought bulbs for 4 oclocks... mirabilis

And bulbs for stargazer lilies

and bulbs for Acapulco lilies

I may have some questions about what to do with them before I put them in the ground!

Wow, what fun! I bet it was very nice to see so many beautiful flowers with everything still dormant here in Colorado.

Thank you for sharing with us and reminding us that our spring flowers will be here in a month or so!

Thanks, Holly! thanks, Caroline! It was really amazing. I was reading that this show has been an annual event for over 100 years, and it's one of the biggest ones in the world. I feel lucky that I was able to see it!

If my little bulbs survive and thrive, I'm looking forward to being able to say, "This one came from Holland! and This one came from Maine! and this one came from upstate New York!" etc.
