I think you have a whole lot of company this year, Bob! SO hard to not be out sticking this, that, and EVERYTHING in the ground! But I way agree that unless you want to watch them die a Frigid Death, best to just spend the next few weeks admiring your Little Sucker---Mulberry sucker, that would be!

Plenty of other things though that can be planted such as beets, peas, carrots, kale, mustard, lettuce, bok choy, parsley, thyme, strawberries, onions...

Ditto...I've got all my gardening tools in the house tonight, sharpening everything. I'm too high up...snow in the forecast for Sunday, but I wish it would rain. But soon! Seed potatoes arrived today, so it won't be long now...

I planted my breeding peas the other day, along with some carrots and radishes.

Today I planted 4 "hills" of Hopi Black and 4 "hills" of Wild Pueblo. Normally i would have waited, but it's been so warm lately that it felt like i was willing to take the risk. Only time will tell if i jumped the gun. I haven't watered them yet, so i suppose i could just leave them dormant until they germinate on their own, unless someone thinks that would be a bad idea.

We usually get a spring frost around May 9th, and somewhere around May 10th is the perfect day to plant the squash and warm season stuff. Hopefully this year is different...
