It takes me awhile . . . I think what you have there is groundsel.

I could be wrong because groundsel is an annual and your description kind of threw me. It likes to show up in the beds with my perennials and it does show up with considerable vigor but if it where I can get at it with weed-killer, it doesn't seem to take much to kill it. I just use the annual weed concentration.

The neighbor's dogs make a mess of her flower beds so they run a bit to weeds. Anyway, I'm blaming them for seeds that blow across the fence. And yes, they do flower and have seeds.

It doesn't come back from the roots when pulled - that I've noticed.

Thanks Steve - any suggestions are extremely welcome. I rudely discovered that my pre-mixed Round-Up from last season seems to have lost some potency over the winter. An early spraying last week isn't even wilting these dang things.

BTW, this still-new-to-arean is taking a weed class soon. Maybe we'll cover this one as we get it out here, albeit with fls.
