I've got some golden raspberry canes which are coming back up now. I need to thin them out, so I can try to dig up some to bring. These were here when I arrived so I'm not certain of the variety, but they were really delicious last year.

gjmancini - irisgirl said she would be bringing some Heritage raspberries to the swap. Her post is right at the beginning of the thread. I too am looking for berries and, well, anything edible. If I come across any good deals or whatever, I will be happy to share with you.

Hey Skybird, I planned ahead this time :0

Here is a link that might be useful: Spring Swap

10-4 on the Heritage raspberries. May have some strawberries, too, but no promises on them.

Thank you both irisgirl and foxes_garden. I so miss having raspberies. When I was little, our house had a really old row of rapberies (probably about 50' and had not been trimmed for at least 5-10 years). I used to run our every morning and try to beat the birds to the ripe berries. Memories...

I have tons of "they were here before I was" raspberries that I just love to eat! Gosh knows what they are or where they came from but they sure are good.
I don't really know how to chomp them out of the ground but Skybird gave me some tips so I'll give it a try.
I'd be happy to bring a few to the swap!

I'd really like to get some rasberries growing somewhere too. Just have to figure a place for them. I noticed in a friends garden that they were in a partially shaded area. Can all rasberries do ok in some shade?

Alice, I don't know anything about raspberries but the ones in the shade seem to do better than the ones in the sun. For all I know, it could be because the ones in the sun share space with those rooty aspens.
I can try to bring a raspberry for you to the swap!
