Johnny's Seed gives you the latitude adaptation. We grow 'Gunnison' (yel) and 'Ruby Ring' (red...well...I grow 'Ruby Ring' for me).

I've had good luck with 'Candy' - a "day-neutral" onion.

It also stores very well, last fall's harvest is just now starting to sprout.
