Onions long day or short day for Colorado?

It seems Colorado is more suited to long day onions. Yet we're really not up north or down south. I've planted a few short day and more long day onions.

Being an onion n00b I started some hybrid seed Spanish Gold Hybrid and Red Burgundy.

So is Colorado long day, short day onions or somewhere in between?

In between. They fool you because of our powerful sun. I've lived in Seattle and Germany, and those are looong days. We don't have long days. But they aren't short like down south either. Johnny's Seed gives you the latitude adaptation. We grow 'Gunnison' (yel) and 'Ruby Ring' (red...well...I grow 'Ruby Ring' for me).

I've had good luck with 'Candy' - a "day-neutral" onion.

It also stores very well, last fall's harvest is just now starting to sprout.
