| How long should I wait to dig and plant? Seems like I'd be creating a mud pit with hard clay walls if I put tomatoes, etc. in now? |

| I'd give it a few days, things dry out rather quickly once the sun and breeze start up. I've concluded that the soil temperature is more important for warm weather vegetables like tomatoes and peppers than the time they're transplanted out in the garden. I often have tomato plants freeze or get hailed out in mid-june, and they will come back from the roots, or be replaced with new transplants, and the end result in late August is the same. |
